Sun Play Therapy is an unregistered alternative provision working closely with Suffolk County Council, schools, and families to support neurodiverse children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs through therapeutic, play-based learning.
Our multidisciplinary team includes play therapists, physiotherapists, trauma-informed practitioners, and therapeutic support staff who provide personalised sessions within homes, community settings, libraries, sensory environments, farms, and outdoor spaces.
We understand that meaningful progress cannot happen without emotional safety, regulation, and trusted relationships. Our provision is built around a therapeutically informed curriculum framework designed to support communication, emotional wellbeing, confidence, independence, engagement, and readiness for learning.
Each child receives an Individual Learning and Wellbeing Plan tailored to their developmental profile, interests, sensory needs, and EHCP outcomes where appropriate. Our sessions combine creative play, sensory regulation, communication support, life skills, community experiences, and fundamental learning activities such as maths, English, and problem-solving through child-led and relationship-based approaches.
